Pork Industry Training (WA)'s Objectives

  • To encourage, promote and undertake the education and training of employers and employees in the Industry in the state of Western Australia and to assist in the further expansion of the Industry both locally and overseas.
  • To administer training in relation to Traineeships, employees and employers within the Industry.
  • To engage in activities in relation to the employment, education and training of persons in the Industry in the state of Western Australia.
  • To participate in curriculum development, accreditation and registration of relevant courses relating to the Industry in the state of Western Australia.
  • To consult with all interested parties for the development in Western Australia and nationally of integrated schemes of education and training as the Association may deem appropriate after consultation with Industry participants and appropriate state and national agencies.
  • To liaise with specific sectors of Industry, specific employers and companies regarding training development for skills acquisition relevant to the future success of the Industry and to participate in the development of further courses and training programs relevant to the Industry.
  • To advance the quality of education and training in all areas of the Industry. In particular, to complement the training and retraining activities of secondary education institutions, technical and further education institutions, tertiary education institutions, and industrial and commercial enterprises.
  • To record education and training qualifications and provide appropriate certification of training and education undertaken.
  • To participate in any other recognised employment training program as the committee may determine from time to time.
  • To undertake any activity in relation to training, education, the employment of Trainees or other employees as the committee may from time to time decide.
