10*0.180 kg Pork loin butterfly steaks, cut thick
Good barbecue seasoning to taste
0.060 lt Vegetable oil
0.100 kg Onion, chopped (1)
0.001 kg Curry power (1 teaspoon)
0.050 kg Crystallised ginger, (chopped)
0.060 kg Pitted dates (1/2 cup)
2 Bananas, chopped
0.125 lt Maple syrup to taste
0.125 lt Lemon juice or wine vinegar to taste
0.250 lt Water (1 cup)
Qty Chilli, salt and pepper to taste

1. To make chutney, saute onions, add curry, ginger, dates and cook for a few minutes until fragrant. Add bananas, maple syrup, lemon juice, water and season to taste. Gently simmer for 10 minutes until all cooked. Stir as often as possible, taste and correct as required.
2. Lightly brush pork steaks with oil and season with your favourite seasoning. Char grill or pan fry until medium done and rest.
3. Serve steak with chutney and seasonal salads.
